Cool weather forecast in UAE until Sunday

on .

Light showers and moderate winds brought down temperatures in Dubai and the Northern Emirates on Friday.

Generally warm weather by day throughout last week — with a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius on Wednesday — had provided indications of early onset of warmer weather. However, Friday’s drizzle brought a cool respite and the forecast by the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) suggests that the weather will remain cool with chances of light rain over the next couple of days.

The skies remained overcast in Dubai and across the Northern Emirates on Friday and the maximum temperature didn’t exceed 26 degrees Celsius in the coastal areas.

The minimum temperature in the coastal region dropped to 17 degrees Celsius.

In the mountainous north and east, the minimum temperature fell to 14 degrees Celsius and the maximum reached 24 degrees.

Strong winds in desert areas kicked up dust, reducing visibility considerably on highways.

Strong Northwesterly winds also made for rough conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
