Commission on Crime Prevention and Emergency Response (CSF) of Volgograd region on Monday introduced a state of emergency in the region because of drought, told RIA Novosti news service of the Main Directorate of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
According to Office, in June in the region was noted two dangerous natural phenomena - soil drought and drought.
"Soil drought from June 30, there is in most of the area within 30 days, reached the criteria of a dangerous phenomenon. Sukhovey also reached the criteria of a hazard at a temperature of 30-35 degrees Celsius on some days - up to 42 degrees, "- a spokesman said.
The wind speed at a temperature, and no precipitation was 5-10 meters second and gusts - up to 15 meters per second.
"As a result of adverse agro-meteorological conditions occurred the death of crops in the area of 511.6 thousand hectares, unreimbursed expenses totaled more than 1.75 billion rubles," - said the spokesman.
